Garut and Its Tourism Sector

 In majority, people have a hometown as the motherland, the place where they were born.  Nowadays, several people always miss their hometown, want to come back, and nostalgia with everything that sound and look natural as they look when they lived in the hometown. People interest in tourism attractions today because they miss the situation that looks natural. Moreover, in this essay I will bring you out to know more about Garut and its tourism sector which have lots of tourist attractions but they are not famous as Bali.

Garut is known as the Diamond city because Garut is the beautiful city which has plenty of places that offer us beautiful sights. In addition, Garut is also well-known as the place where “dodol”(kind of food that made from sticky rice flour and brown sugar) is come from. Nowadays, there are lots of tourist attractions in Garut which offer us lots of unique services that will support us to get relaxing time such as ‘Kampung Sampireun’, an inn which presents us unique services like volcano spa, eating in a canoe, and inn in the middle of lake and so on. Not only does ‘Kampung Sampireun’ offer us those kinds of services, but there are also still lots of places in Garut that offer services like that even they have more.

Explaining about beautiful tourist attractions in Garut, frankly I say there are lots. Nonetheless, they are not familiar in international as Bali. Starting from the places that have beautiful scenery of mountain until the beautiful scenery of beaches, Garut has both of them. They are Candi Cangkuang (Cangkuang Temple), Cipanas ( Cipanas hot spring), Situ Bagendit (Bagendit lake), Gunung Papandayan (Papandayan Mountain), Curug Orok ( Orok Waterfall), Pantai Santolo(Santolo beach), Pantai Sayang Heulang ( Sayang Heulang beach) etc. They are unfamiliar internationally even regionally. It seems that Garut officials do not do more in promoting Garut as city which has lots of beautiful tourist attractions as Bali. I think it is very miserable for Garut itself. Garut citizen cannot utilize the good potentials that their city has to earn lots of money from that, especially from tourism sector to make the citizen prosper.

In conclusion, although Garut has lots of beautiful tourist attractions, Garut is not famous as Bali today because Garut officials do not take excellent actions to solve about tourism promotion about Garut itself. However, I think Garut has a chance to be city like Bali which is famous for its beautiful tourist attraction if Garut tourist officials make well promotion about Garut and its beautiful tourist attractions that offer us lots of unique services and beautiful sceneries.
